Bolt-action Wolf (L.A.I.)

Midnight was near, the challenge of the year was on the horizon. Mile1 was in her hotel room, wrapped in blankets, and her sniper rifle settled in front of her like her pet. Mile1 was deciding whether or not to take apart her closest companion and adjust the settings for the next arena.

Mil, as she was called by those she managed to call friends snaked her hand out from under the blankets and dragged the tv remote in like prey. The shower turned off, Farsee was cleaning up. the television was dull as it had grown to become, discovery was all about alaska and sharks for the week, fox was playing its overhyped news, and cartoon network was playing that show everyone had grown to hate. Mil eyeballed the laptop across the room, screensaver playing photos of Farsee's favorite guns and drinks. the internets were calling to Mil from the bed

"anon awaits" "update your status" "new parts have become available" and so on and so forth.

"Millie, all the towels are gone, be a dear and snatch one from the boys room" Farsee, you would think she would be in a trailer provided by her family, but no, she wanted a room with the single person she considered an equal with a scoped rifle.

"Millie!?"

"Ok, ok, keep your lasso on..." Mil turned the tv to a spanish channel and slid the blankets up over her head, the heat escaped and the chill of the AC was like a punch in the face. she reapplied the blanket and hobbled down the hall.

what was their room number again? Mil trotted down the hall. 204, 208, 210. she didnt have the faintest idea of which room Alchemist and Swingblade were. she thought it might be one of these three. 208, it had to be. she hovered in front of the door, hesitant to knock, the last thing she needed was some old couple or a half naked jackass opening the door. Farsee was waiting she slithered a hand out and the door behind her opened up.

"hey Al, I dont remember ever ordering a pair of legs and a blanket" Mil snapped around to see a shirtless Swingblade holding a bottle of whiskey. Alchemist's head flung over the edge of is bed.

"get back in here Swing, its Mile1" Al crept off the bed and out to the hall. he threw Swingblade back into the room and eased the door closed.

"so whats up?" Al shook himself sober as best he could, he was closer than Swing was.

"uh... we... we're out of towels and we thought, you might have a spare or two?" Al looked confused then smiled.

"sure let me just" the howl of Swing puking his guts out seemed to echo for miles.

"walk with you down to the desk, they could probably hand a few over" he held his hand out. Mil tightened her blanket. Al let his hand fall down as he walked off, Mil trailed behind.

Al called the elevator, the arrow lit up. an old couple... buttoning up their shirts faster than you could say 'aarp'. the old man made a grin at Al. Al started to cough to try to cover the laughing he almost started.

"going down?" Al said, as straight as he could. The old man nodded, Al just stood there with his arm in front of Mil. the doors closed and Al turned.

"we'll catch the next one, awkward elevator rides are... awkward" Mil felt she had to say something. they were this far and she had just been standing there.

"they, might have asked us to join" they chuckled for a moment, another door opened. on the ground floor they approached the desk.

"excuse me could we by chance get some extra towels, we're fresh out of clean ones" Al asked, the lady at the desk made a call for towels.

"Farsee is probably still waiting for those towels, she'll freak out unless you hurry back. wouldn't surprise me one bit if she ran around in the buff looking for you and some towels" they chuckled again then stopped at the moderate possibility of that being something that could happen.

a cleaning lady arrived short after the call was made and Mile1 got three fresh towels to take back. They approach the elevator as the door opened, those who walked out were not who Al and Mil wanted to see.

"well well, look who it is. The Philosophers" the Dork Squad exited the elevator. Three of its members were in some sharp outfits, making their way to the club scene.

"hello War-loq, Redmage, GlaDos. going clubbing? make sure to equip your pocket protectors, and stay away from lockers. if your taking dads car make sure to keep it under 65, and be home by eleven."

"oh Alchemist your comedy ceases to amaze me. just remember that tomorrow its you and me in that arena, then after that, we'll be going to New York for the semi-finals. and you'll be going home, sad that we who Return to the Jumpstart Learning Journey to the Promised Land will have beaten the infamous Philosophers."

"your forgetting something Dork Squad" War-Loq reared his head in offense.

"we have a top notch team you have to beat first"

"ah, yes... her, the Bolt-Action Wolf is in your party along with she who is better known as Farsee, the Sapphire Disaster. just remember one thing." War-loq stepped towards Alchemist, Mile1 stepped back and grasped the towels close.

"its hard to look forward when you have to keep looking around"
