its been too long since ive posted so ill say a few words and write a little something out of a story i started within a story (remember Day/Off? didnt think so)
so christmas and newyears has come and gone. the girls were down and we had a lot of fun, ive ordered a new part for my car (goodbye $150.00... hello 300HP) other than that my life has been naturally dead. nothing amazing at home, work, im still not in school which is a bummer, but when i spend money on anime and car parts what can i do (im going crazy i keep typing waht instead of what)
anyways, theres nothing new in my life and i need to get some writers energy done so here it is. this is a story set in an old western type of world but with lots of modern and futuristic elements. theres been some conversation over who the Reaper in black silk is, and who the Sapphire disaster is. i havent decided yet i figure that ill leave it that way until i find more symbolism behind it. until next time.
HTWest: The Reaper in black silk
smoked billowed at as it usually did, what was unusual was the foot traffic. the city of metropolis was a giant city with many people walking about, but the search for a pair of heads worth a hundred grand, put the city in an uproar. The Reaper in black silk was dragging the Sapphire disaster down the industrial streets like they were being chased by an avalanche.
"c'mon Sapphire, get the lead out. if we dont get out of metropolis immediately then we're done for" Reaper said as he stumbled up a set of stairs.
"its hard to keep balance when your pulling me, besides that im carrying a whole lot more than you are" she ripped her hand away and they darted into a dark alley for a quick rest.
"whats the point in having so many weapons if they just wear you down? leave your attention to one in particular and make it your best" he removed his cattlemens carbine from its holster and checked the chambers. his beloved dirtyBIRD had gotten him out of a lot of tight spaces. Sapphire checked her only exposed weapon 'The Revolutionary' and holstered it again.
"when you stop being so narrowsighted, you'll understand, one tool for each job" She caught her breath and they were ready to book it again. Reaper spotted the magnet train station, it was quite a ways away, and if they ran they might be spotted. the other part of the traffic today was the Metrofest, so everybody and their families were out to have a good time. it wouldnt be any help to their name to just go out and cause a catastrophe in the middle of the city. Reaper tilted his hat down over his eyes and Sapphire did the same, they held hands and casually strolled through the masses.
so far so good, a few people looked longer than the two of them liked, but the fact that none of those people took any action meant they were still okay, just a couple more yards and they could escape on the magnet train. there was a loud thumping sound, and both of them knew it wasnt a good sign. a Sheriff model steamwalker was in the area. considering that they hadnt changed their clothes, they would stick out like a sore thumb. sure enough the loud speaker thundered.
"you two, stop right where you are and face towards the steamwalker" the two of them looked at each other.
"that train will leave regardless of whats happening here" the crowd was thinning out due to the situation, and the train was about to leave. the canopy on the steamwalker opened and the officer was walking towards them.
"any ideas... Miss Overencumbered?" Reaper said. Sapphire shifted her weight to one foot and tapped on the inside of her dress, the heavy thud of something metal echoed. the officer told her to freeze and trained his weapon, an intimidating assault rifle was trembling in his hands. Sapphire tapped in another place and grinned as she found what she was looking for. she kicked and a giant golden vickers machine gun exposed watercooled barrel and all, the weapon was complimented by a large drum shaped ammo case. Sapphire got down closer to the gun and mustve sat on a hidden seat cause she was manipulating the weapon without her hands.
the officer backed off in terror, as Sapphire placed her hand on the crank and the officer ran off. Sapphire lit up the steamwalker in a blizzard of bullets. the high impact rounds shredded the machine into a pitifull metal pile. he hadnt noticed it till now but Sapphire had been pushed back a few inches.
the train whistle went off and more officers were entering the station. the train started to move.
"dammit we need to get going now, break those support beams Sapphire" the Vickers's barrel rose high into the air and ripped through the ceiling supports and made a massive blockade around them. Sapphire took two deep breaths and stood up, the Vickers seemed to dissappear into thin air inside her dress. they turned around and the train was gone. the two of them ran to the magnatrack and saw the tiny train as it vanished into the distance. out in the distance was a single magnet train engine.
"over there, we can escape in that"
"that piece of crap? it looks like a tin can"
"doesnt matter it still runs" they fled towards the engine and gunfire started to surround them, Sapphire pulled out her sidearm and fired blindly. Reaper entered the train and started working the controls, the inside of the train looked like the oversized innards of an old fashioned clock, gears and other metal work were everywhere.
"we're almost ready" Reaper yelled, Sapphire was held up behind some cover returning fire where she saw fit. the thunder of steamwalkers was getting closer, they were out of time. then the train started up, the batterys were nearly dead but they could get away fast enough and far enough to be safe.
"alright hold on tight" Reaper yanked on some levers and the train took off like it was shot from a barrel.
"we'll dump this close to the next station and we'll get on something nicer ok" Reaper looked and saw that Sapphire was about to fall off.
"slow down dammit!"
To be continued
